history
1950
Cortés celebrates a very special milestone in 2025: 75 years of experience dedicated to ceramic tooling. The factory in l’Alcora has come a long way, where proximity, personalization, and customer service have been fundamental pillars in its growth and consolidation in the sector.
At the head of the management are currently Juanjo and Emilio Cortés, the third generation of a family business that has known how to adapt to the times without losing its essence. Their commitment to quality and innovation has allowed them to overcome numerous challenges, from changes inherent to an evolving society to the specific challenges of the ceramic industry in a province with deep roots in this sector.

REMEMBERING…
WE SHARED A DAY WITH THE MOST VETERAN EMPLOYEE AND THE CUSTOMERS WITH THE LONGEST TENURE
Proudly from l’ALCORA
From its beginnings, Cortés has demonstrated a firm commitment to the municipality, supporting each and every one of the events, celebrations, and projects that l’Alcora has organized.
Your collaboration has been constant and selfless, participating in the town's patron saint festivities, sponsoring and collaborating in cultural and sports activities, soccer and basketball teams…always with the intention of favoring and contributing to the well-being of the town.
Cortés has always felt and continues to feel proud of its identity, demonstrating that business success can go hand in hand with social commitment.

CUTTING EDGE OF DIE MAKING
That versatile workshop, founded in 1950, has transformed itself into a leader in ceramic tooling. Its adaptability to new environments has been instrumental in overcoming significant changes within the industry.

FROM L’ALCORA
to the world
Cortés mainly works in the domestic market, although they also have international presence. From Spain, they serve national demand and orders coming from Turkey, Morocco, etc.
Cortés's growth can be observed in the opening of a factory in Peru in 2009. From this plant, all of South America is served, mainly Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia, among many other countries.
Today, Cortés maintains its foundational pillars by multiplying its technological capacity through research in large formats and digital inkjet decoration. R&D+i is part of the company's "dna" to modernize itself and successfully overcome economic cycles' obstacles.
Currently, Cortés employs 35 workers at its headquarters located in the town of l’Alcora, plus 13 in its Peruvian plant, serving a significant portion of the American market.
Changing for you
On this 75th anniversary, Cortés wants to share with you an exciting step towards the future: the rebranding and image update.
The new logo is a renewed, modern, and fresh vision, but without losing its essence. The same colors and geometric shapes accompany the new image.
It is a visual representation of the commitment to continue innovating and adapting Cortés to the new times, in order to keep growing together, with the same passion and dedication that characterizes the company.
ENVIRONMENT
and sustainability
In 2021, Cortés installs solar panels to reduce energy costs
Commitment to efficient production is a priority at Cortés, especially in the context of energy crisis. That is why, in 2021, the company installed 120 solar panels on the roof of the warehouse to harness clean energy.
The objective of self-consumption and respect for the ecosystem are key in the roadmap of a company dedicated to machinery for the ceramic industry, which has been adapting to new challenges since its origins. In this case, the current situation requires seeking answers to the difficulties that arise along the way, which translate into an evident increase in energy prices and a planet that needs alternatives to reckless consumption.
Being more efficient means being more productive and, therefore, guaranteeing the growth and continuation of a consolidated and increasing workforce since it started operating in 1951. Challenges have evolved, positioning the company as a leader in the manufacturing of molds and relief designs for inkjet systems, without neglecting the technical and after-sales service so valued by clients.
Recognition and Awards
Throughout its 75-year history, this company has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and dedication in each of its projects. Thanks to its constant effort and passion for offering the best, it has earned numerous awards and recognition for its track record and impact on the community and its industry.
These recognitions not only celebrate their long history, but also their ability to adapt to changes, maintain high standards of excellence, and positively contribute to the development of their environment. Each award received is a testament to work well done, commitment to innovation, and respect for customers, employees, and collaborators.
This 75-year journey is an example of perseverance and dedication, and these awards reinforce its position as a leading and reliable company, which has known how to remain firm and continue growing with integrity and passion.

The present,
Emilio and Juanjo
In its imposing headquarters in l’Alcora, spanning 4,000 square meters of construction on a 10,000-square-meter plot, Cortés still exudes that familiar character instilled by its founder, a legacy that today is managed by two of his grandsons, Emilio and Juan. They took the reins of this business to cement their place as one of the oldest family businesses in the province of Castellón.
Juan José –Juanjo– and Emilio grew up, like all the Cortés family members, in the family home above the workshop, which was then located in the urban center. The three dwellings thus became the home of the three children of the founder, and from a young age, they knew the daily workings of the business. Raised in the sound of machinery, milling machines, and the dry sound of hammers, they came to be like those bells that mark the passage of time…
PRESENT and future
Juan Bautista Cortés (the Abuelo, grandfather), could never have imagined that, with his effort and passion, he would create a prosperous business that today continues to be a fundamental pillar and bond within the family. Transmitting values of work, honesty, and commitment in every step of the way.
Thanks to that vision and the dedication of subsequent generations, the company has grown and strengthened, becoming a symbol of perseverance. Looking to the future, we are convinced that this tradition will continue. Our successors, with respect for our legacy and new ideas, will continue to work enthusiastically to maintain the quality and integrity that characterize us.
Our commitment is to continue growing, innovating, and above all, keeping alive that family spirit that has guided us throughout these years.’
We can only
say, Thank you
Today, on our 75th anniversary, we want to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. This achievement would not be possible without your trust, support, and dedication. To our clients, thank you for trusting us throughout these years. Your loyalty and preference have motivated us to continue growing and improving every day. To our suppliers, we appreciate your constant commitment and collaboration. Thank you for being a fundamental part of the quality and excellence of our work. And to our incredible team of workers, thank you for your effort, passion, and dedication! Without you, this journey would not have been possible.
This anniversary is a time to celebrate and value the union that has allowed us to come this far. We look forward to the future with enthusiasm, confident that we will continue to grow together. Over these 75 years, there has been room for awards, patents, adoption of new technologies, digitization of workshops, professionalization of a continuously trained workforce, and a thousand and one challenges derived from the various ups and downs of the tile sector.
But above all, there has been room to create friendships that last. We are a company, but above all, we are people.
Thank you for being part of our story!
Each and every one of you has been and continues to be part of Cortés.
